No Experience Needed

Our friendly team guides you every step of the way. Come as you are — beginners and first-timers are our speciality. All materials are provided and glazing is handled for you.

Something for Every Occasion

From baby keepsake prints to birthday parties and corporate team-building, we tailor each session to your group. Hen dos, date nights, family afternoons — we do it all.

Take Home a Piece You're Proud Of

We fire and glaze your finished piece so it's food-safe and ready to treasure or gift. Pieces are typically ready to collect within 14 days on average.

Workshops & Events

All workshops include materials and glazing. Small groups, friendly tutors, big results. Book your spot before they're gone!

Clay Workshops

We're always looking for new clay workshop ideas and already have a fantastic range of clay workshops on offer. No prior experience is needed, as we run through everything you'll need to know during the session.

When you join us for a clay workshop, we provide all the tools you'll need — and you'll come back to paint your piece once it's been fired to pottery.

We use earthenware clay for our clay workshops, which needs approximately 3 weeks of drying time before pieces are fired to pottery. Once your creation is fired, we ask that you book back in to paint your project, and we'll then refire it to a glaze finish.

Stoneware Workshops

"The magic happens in the kiln, so trust the process." When creating designs with stoneware, you won't see the full outcome of how the specialist glazes come together and flow until the piece has been fired. Unlike painting on our usual earthenware bisque, where the paint stays where you put it, stoneware firings encourage the glazes to move in the extreme heat of the kiln — so the colours will have shifted and flowed into each other by the time it's done. Stoneware workshops are ideal for everyone — you don't have to be an artist or an experienced painter to get a beautiful result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to book in advance for daily pottery painting?

Walk-ins are welcome during our open studio sessions, but we recommend booking online to guarantee your spot — especially at weekends. Booking takes just a minute and ensures we have everything set up ready for you.

What ages are welcome at Potter's Hand?

Everyone! We cater for toddlers (with a carer), school-age children, teens, adults and seniors. Our keepsake sessions are particularly popular with parents of newborns and young babies. For children under 5, please bring a responsible adult.

Are all materials included in the price?

Yes — your session fee covers the pottery piece of your choice, all paints, brushes, and the cost of glazing and kiln-firing. There are no hidden extras. We just ask you to arrive on time and ready to enjoy yourself!

How long will my finished piece take to collect?

Pieces are typically glazed and fired within 14 days on average. We'll drop you a message as soon as your item is ready. If you'd prefer postage, just let us know and we can arrange this for a small additional fee.

Can I hire the studio for a private event?

Absolutely! We love hosting hen parties, birthday celebrations, team-building days and family gatherings. Drop us a message via the contact form or WhatsApp and we'll put together a tailored package for your group.

Studio Gallery

Every piece on this wall was made right here in the studio — some by seasoned painters, others by someone holding a brush for the very first time. However creative you're feeling today is exactly creative enough. Come join a session, meet the team, and leave with something you're proud to call yours. You might make a few friends along the way, too.
